Product Description
ONE LOT OF 20 (TWENTY)
PL-259 Connector Features:
-
Solid BRASS body.
-
Heavy SILVER Plating
-
TEFLON dielectric
THE SILVER PLATING MAKES THESE CONNECTORS VERY EASY TO SOLDER AND THE TEFLON WILL WITHSTAND HIGH TEMPERATURES AND WON'T MELT LIKE LOWER COST NICKEL PLATING WITH PLASTIC DIELECTRIC.
-
The best body material is brass. Some lower cost connectors use tin, aluminum, or zinc.
-
The best plating material is silver which provides the lowest electrical resistance and VERY EASY to solder, even without flux.
-
The best dielectric material is Teflon which won't melt when soldering.
Nickel plated connectors can be quite difficult to solder, even with a good flux. Many PL-259 connectors of inferior quality have the center pin come completely out when heated during soldering. Some with a plastic dielectric will actually melt!
